MEDLOG To Develop New Integrated Logistics Hub At The Port Of Melbourne

MEDLOG is developing a new, fully integrated logistics and intermodal hub within the Port of Melbourne precinct — giving Australian importers and exporters more reliable and better-connected supply chains as their trade grows.

Located at the heart of Australia’s largest container port, the facility is designed to bring rail, container handling, warehousing and value-added services together on a single, strategically located site. Once operational, it will give customers a more connected and reliable end-to-end logistics solution.

A STRATEGIC INVESTMENT IN AUSTRALIAN SUPPLY CHAINS

Spanning more than 18 hectares, the site will strengthen freight connectivity between the Port of Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate markets. As port volumes continue to grow, it will underpin this growth with scalable and sustainable solutions.

On completion, the site will provide:

• A dedicated rail terminal with direct intermodal connectivity to the port and to regional and interstate rail networks
• Large-scale empty container park (ECP) services for importers, exporters and shipping line customers
• Warehousing and tailored value-added logistics services
• Onsite biosecurity, container handling and transport services
• Direct access to Melbourne’s major freight road corridors

The site will also be equipped to handle project cargo and out-of-gauge shipments, including freight for large-scale renewable energy projects and data centres.

Bringing these capabilities together on one site will allow MEDLOG to offer customers faster turnaround times, reduced handling and a genuine single-provider solution, with dependable capacity and consistent service to simplify planning.

SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS

The new hub also supports MEDLOG’s commitment to more sustainable logistics. By enabling a greater mode shift to rail, it will help reduce emissions and road congestion across metropolitan Melbourne, while driving efficiency and productivity gains.

A LONG-TERM VISION FOR AUSTRALIAN CONNECTIVITY

“At MEDLOG, we invest for the long term. This project reflects our commitment to building resilient, port-connected infrastructure that supports our customers, strengthens supply chains and contributes to the prosperity of the communities in which we operate.”

— Ned Zver, Chief Executive Officer, MEDLOG Australia
