1970

MSC is founded

by Captain Gianluigi Aponte in Belgium. His first ship, the Patricia, connects Europe and Africa via the Red Sea.

1988

MEDLOG IS ESTABLISHED IN ANTWERP, BELGIUM

to provide streamlined, trustworthy and cost-effective transport and logistics services to MSC and its customers.

1988-90

MEDLOG EXPANDS INTO SOUTH AND EAST AFRICA

establishing local depots and logistics infrastructure in South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

2005-2007

MEDLOG NETWORK CONTINUES TO GROW

with new storage depots and CFS facilities in China, India, North Africa and Southeast Asia.

2008-2010

MEDLOG GROWS ITS OPERATIONS IN AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AMERICA, SPAIN, TURKEY AND WEST AFRICA

to match customer demand for inland transportation solutions.

2016

ACQUISITION OF PORTUGUESE RAIL FREIGHT OPERATOR CP CARGA

MEDLOG becomes a private rail freight operator, diversifying its offering and capabilities.

2018

EXPANSION IN CHINA

MEDLOG Shanghai develops rapidly in major domestic ports, establishing seven branches and various product departments, including depots, rail, ground service.

2019

MEDLOG BECOMES A RAIL FREIGHT OPERATOR IN ITALY

expanding its existing European inland transportation network under the name of MEDWAY.

2020

MEDLOG WINS 'LOGISTICS SOLUTION OF THE YEAR' AWARD

at the Seatrade Maritime Awards for its innovative inland transportation solution in Lagos Port, Nigeria. The new barge terminal helps to reduce traffic congestion in the port area and speed up deliveries.

2021

THE COMPANY STARTS OPERATING IN CANADA and accelerates in THE USA

providing end-to-end domestic services including drayage, warehousing and inland transportation.

MEDLOG OPENS FIRST COLD STORAGE FACILITY IN PIURA, PERU

featuring 4 packaging lines to process fruit, 5 storage chambers and 11 cooling tunnels

2022

MEDLOG BECOMES RAIL FREIGHT OPERATOR ACROSS CENTRAL NORTHERN EUROPE

Establishing new MEDWAY connections between Austria, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

2024

MSC OPENS NEW COLD STORAGE FACILITY IN DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA

Featuring 15,000 m² of space, capacity for up to 10,000 pallets, and advanced systems for handling chilled and frozen cargo to boost South Africa’s import–export logistics.

2025

MEDLOG OPENS FLAGSHIP COLD CHAIN FACILITY IN THE US

Spanning 27,871 m² with the largest blast freezing capacity in the U.S. and space for 20,000 pallets, the new solar-powered facility connects protein suppliers to global markets through the Port of Savannah, boosting U.S. exports and economic growth.
