MEDWAY’s journey began on January 16, 2016 in Portugal following the acquisition of CP-Carga. Since then, it has significantly expanded its footprint to become one of the largest privately owned rail freight operator across Europe.
Today, MEDWAY is operating all over Europe with over 700 trains departures a week. MEDWAY plays a central role in MSC Group intermodal network, connecting ports, inland terminals and key industrial hubs with reliable, cross-border rail solutions.
“Over the past decade, MEDWAY has grown from a national rail operation into a key pillar of our European intermodal network. This milestone reflects the strength of our long-term vision, our investments in infrastructure and people, and our commitment to sustainable logistics.”
Salvatore Prudente, MEDLOG Executive Director
MEDWAY now operates more than 40,000 rail services per year, covering over 9 million km, with a fleet of 150+ locomotives and 4,800 railcars. A key pillar of MEDLOG’s intermodal network, it will continue to evolve, offering sustainable solutions and cross-border connectivity for customers across Europe.
